Making our space GREAT!

The NASC fundraising campaign continues to raise the necessary finance.

Funding is well underway. Our generous members and sponsors contributed towards the first phase of the works, completed in time for Easter Camp 2022. These included:

  • Installation of security fencing to define the full extent of the Center’s boundaries, extending the site’s land towards the Sea. This provided much needed space for the Center’s Catamarans and RS Fevas.

  • Relocating the Containers to the Island Rd boundary freeing up significant space in the Yard for working out, rigging boats, events and boat maintenance.

  • Reconstruction of boat racks to improve storage and move boats off the central area.

  • Fitting out the Containers for the storage of Life Jackets, Sails, Rudders and Swim and Sail equipment and accessories. They will also accommodate our Partner non profit C.A.R.E.

The Concept Plan for the comprehensive development received final approval from the N.I.A. in December 2021. The detailed planning application, prepared by our Architect Billy Claxton, is currently being processed and considered for authorization.

Phase 2 of the works will include a washroom facility, a refreshment facility, classrooms, viewing platform and shade. This investment will address the critical issue of hygiene and be immediately beneficial for the Instructors, Volunteers, Participants and families visiting the Center. All necessary so our Center can be your new home for swimming, sailing and marine conservation on Nevis.

JUNE 2022
The Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center (NASC) has a core objective :

To ensure Nevis' children, youth and the extended community are able to swim and access sail, aquatics and marine activities.

A year round Swim and Sail training facility is in place at the Center's premises on the sheltered shallow waters of Oualie Bay.

Very few children on Nevis can swim safely and with confidence in the water.
Learning to swim is the essential first stage in learning to sail. Through its Swim, Sail and Marine Biology Programs, NASC is laying the foundation for a brighter future for young Nevisians.

There is a proven pathway to skilled, well paid jobs in the marine industries, boat maintenance, resort water sports, lifeguarding, boat charter, sail instruction, as a swim official and marine management.

NASC is a non profit organization, making this approach to you as a stakeholder in the Nevis community and the Nevis economy.

The attached document, "Proposal for Funding Critical Facilities at the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center", demonstrates NASC's urgent need to upgrade the Center. Due to the success of the Swim and Sail Programs, we have a responsibility to address basic issues of safety, hygiene and the quality of the on site experience for children and families.

We hope you might be sympathetic to our cause and ambitions, willing to make a financial contribution and become our partner in this critical upgrade of the NASC's facilities.

It is a tangible opportunity to help the Island's children and youth improve their life skills and future opportunities.

We would appreciate you taking the time to look at the information pack.
It includes a resume of our Proven Track Record; Programs; Client Profile and Participation; and the Professionalism of our Organization.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss this project further.

Kind regards
